If you're an Aussie sports fan planning a trip to San Francisco, you’ll want to watch our latest Gameday episode. Our host Duncan McKenzie-McHarg is joined by 49ers legend Mitch Wishnowsky for a day of breathtaking views, legendary attractions, and some epic sporting action.
Our adventure begins with a yacht ride around the stunning San Francisco Bay. Jump on board the “California Spirit”, a mighty 30 metre-long vessel with two levels, three viewing decks, and two bars. As our hosts hop aboard, they're greeted by the salty sea air and unmissable panoramic views of the Bay Area, including famous San Francisco landmarks like historic Alcatraz and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
After a morning of soaking up the bay's beauty, it's time to head to Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. The stadium is a staple for sports and entertainment in San Francisco, renowned for its breathtaking views and classic design. This week, however, it’s not just about baseball. Mitch is bringing his legendary punting skills to this opening game for a historic first... an NFL punt into the famous splash zone. It’s tradition for opening day’s first pitch to be sent to the splash zone, but never before have we seen a football player attempt!
It’s up to Duncan and Mitch to convince the stadium big wigs to let them try and make history, giving us the perfect opportunity to spot some SF Giants players and take a peek around this famous baseball stadium.
Whether with a boat ride around the bay, or a tour of the glorious Oracle Park, there’s no limit to the amazing exploring you can do around San Francisco on game day.
